The day will cover:

  • What is community investment
  • What is a land trust
  • How to begin a community share offer
  • How to set up a land trust
  • Incorporation
  • Case studies from successful schemes
  • Time for networking and meeting other groups

You can also have 1:1 advice from experts including Jim Brown, Baker Brown Assocs and lead consultant for the Community Shares programme and Mark Simmonds, Making Local Food Work Field Officer, Co-operatives UK

Community investment is a means of raising money as shares or loans from your community. Several CSAs have raised significant amounts of investment recently, creating capital for growth and a long term commitment from local people. For more information please see the funding pages on our website

Several groups are seeking to buy land to protect it for perpetuity by creating land trusts. If your group needs land for farming, come and hear how to set up a land trust.
